Preppy dinner
September 19, 2006

as this is a blog about cooking, maybe knitting, and maybe anything else, my first post will be about dinner last night. risotto with peas and prosciutto, with a little drizzle of truffle oil on top. roasted green beans and radishes on the side. it was good but not as tasty as i’d hoped it would be. actually, i thought the risotto was fairly tasty, and the green beans were pretty good but the radishes (from the grand army plaza greenmarket) were quite watery. no peppery bite, just watery. a said the pictures looked better than it tasted! but what does he know–being a recently converted vegan i bet his tastebuds still aren’t functioning properly…
i didn’t realize until i plated everything that the theme seemed to be pink and green. in other words, preppy! takes me right back to 1984…

I think the risotto looks delicious. I’ve had your risotto before too and it was absolutely amazing! I think you should also let your readers know that the pigs who died to make that proscuitto lived nice happy free-ranging lives.

know what? my risotto used to be more delicious. it used to be one of my spesheealitees, if you know what i mean. but i sorta lost the touch.
and i had already let me reader (notice the absence of the plural form of the word) know about the happy pigs!

wow that is a lovely plate of food H-cat. Really i’m impressed. To bad about the radishes. Nothing disappoints like a bad radish.
